Why is it that, whilst we follow a specific skincare routine for every part of our body, we don’t have one for our intimate area? Whenever we ask ourselves this question, we never seem to find an answer that really satisfies us. Think about it carefully. We use specific products for our face, which we apply in a particular order, to achieve radiant, glowing, wrinkle-free skin… We also have a hair care routine to keep our hair clean, moisturised and tangle-free… Many of us also follow a body care routine that involves exfoliating and moisturising our skin… And we don’t forget about oral health either! So, what about intimate health? Following an #IntimCare routine is essential for looking after your intimate area.
The vulvovaginal area is delicate because it’s a moist, poorly ventilated area where traces of sweat, faeces, urine or menstrual fluid may be present. With this in mind, we need to wash the area with specific products that ensure proper cleansing whilst respecting the natural flora and pH balance – in other words, products that aren’t harsh and don’t strip away the skin’s lipid barrier.
Furthermore, the intimate area needs protection because the skin is sensitive and reactive. In this regard, it is important to provide the necessary moisturisation using emollient intimate creams that prevent possible dryness, itching and irritation…
For all these reasons, it is essential that we follow an #IntimCare routine tailored to the stage of life we are at, to enhance our wellbeing and quality of life.
Here at Cumlaude Lab, we suggest four routines that can help you look after your intimate area, but if you have any questions or would like more routines, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
If you’ve just given birth, looking after your intimate area is essential to prevent possible infections. Here’s a very simple care routine for you to follow. Take note!
If you’re someone who exercises daily, you’ll know that some sports can cause friction in the intimate area, such as cycling. And, in some cases, it’s not the sport itself but the clothing we wear – tights, leggings, underwear – which can be too tight and cause constant rubbing against the vulva, leading to discomfort such as irritation or itching.
To avoid these symptoms, we recommend you try this care routine – it’s very simple!
With the onset of the menopause, the body begins to produce increasingly lower levels of oestrogen and progesterone and, as a result, we may experience increased vaginal and vulvar dryness, pain during sex due to a lack of vaginal lubrication, mood swings, hot flushes…
To cope with these changes, we recommend this #IntimCare routine:
Finally, if you’re someone who values natural products, we have the perfect #IntimCare routine for you.
As you can see, we have an #IntimCare routine for every type of woman, so don’t think twice – look after your intimate health.
